U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Levi Woodbury acknowledges William H. Wharton's communication regarding the seizure of the Texas Navy schooner Terrible. The USS Boston captured the vessel and sent it to New Orleans on charges of piracy off the coast of Mexico.
